RHOvemeber Reflection

RHOvember has come to an end but the excitement of my Founders’ month is still fire.

I am still filled by the fire that burns bright from and organization that is dear to my heart. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc was founded on November 12, 1922 at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven female educators Their legacy of scholarship, service, and sisterhood are still prevalent today.

Every once in a while I am asked why I chose Sigma and the truth is that Sigma chose me. She chose me to set an example for others. To show those who are interested in sorority life that it’s okay to be yourself while being part of an organization. I don’t think Sigma changed me, and if she did, then she made me into a more confident woman. A woman who is comfortable in a room of adversity and I love that because that’s what my founders faced everyday.
